Rubbermaid FastTrack Ladder Hook is a user-friendly, well-designed ladder hook. It is a metal hook with 50 pounds weight capacity. If your ladder weighs over 50 pounds you need to use two hooks.

This Ladder Hook is 3 inches in length, 13.38 inches in width and 8.88 inches in Hight. It has a grip to hold the ladder in place. Which is one of the reasons to choose the hook.

 ✔️ Should I use a ladder hook?

I think ladder hooks can be a smart choice for those who want to keep everything simple. Let’s know some pros and cons of ladder hook.

Pros
  • Hanging hooks are available in the market with variety.
  • Easy to set up and hang.
  • Reasonable price.

Precaution

Don’t install your hook directly on drywall. When installing the hook-on drywall always remember to use a stud.

✔️ Keep it in a fixed ceiling

Another way of ladder storage in garage is keeping it in a fixed ceiling.

All you have to do is make a false ceiling on top. You can use wooden boards to make the ceiling.

Although, this is an old procedure to keep or store things. Still some people like me having false ceilings these days too.

Moreover, after keeping your ladder you will get enough place to put other things! Also, it allows you to keep heavy ladders.

✔️ Hang ladder with a ceiling mount pulley

Ceiling mount pully is now getting popular to hang things such as surfboard, ladder etc. Though it always put a question about safety. As you always have to pull the mount up and down to use the ladder over your vehicle or head.

There are two types of ceiling mount pully available in the market.

  • Manual ceiling mount pulley
  • Automated ceiling mount pulley

If you buy a manual pully, you have to pull a pully rope to bring the ladder down or up. After keeping your ladder on the ceiling, you have to lock it.

Automated pullies are still needed to be safer to use. I look over some automated pullies and in most cases, I hear bad reviews from users.

In that case, I recommend manual one over Automated one.

Pros
  • Space consuming.
  • Installation is very simple.
  • Easy to use.

Cons
  • As it holds a ladder on the ceiling it can befall.
  • It’s not safe to carry a heavy ladder up and down while you or your car is under it.
  • It’s not suitable for heavy ladders.

 ✔️ Keep ladder in-ceiling brackets

Keeping ladder in-ceiling brackets is a traditional way of ladder storage solutions. It is very popular to hang tools and ladders.

Ceiling brackets hang your ladder from the ceiling. The material used in the ceiling bracket is metal. Which makes it stronger to hold your heavy ladder.

To install all it you have to do is drill your ceiling and adjust the ceiling brackets legs. As simple as it sounds.

Pros
  • Available in the nearest store.
  • Easy to set up.
  • You can store heavy ladders.

Cons
  • If you don’t have much space in your garage, it will be difficult to bring down and keep it back.

To store an extension ladder you can follow the same procedure to store a regular ladder. You can hang an extension ladder in the garage using a hook. Also, you can keep it in a fixed ceiling or use a ceiling mount pulley to hang.

What is the best way to store the extension ladders?
